In this technique class, instructor
Zelda K (Workman)
shows how to crochet a sampler of stitches into a wall-hanging with lots of texture.
Making this stand-alone fiber art project will teach you several stitches with which
you can also make fantastic afghans and great sweaters.
To take this class you need to know ch, sl st, sc, dc, tr, hdc, inc, dec,
and how to turn rows and join rnds.
The textures in this sampler are derived from a variety of stitches.
Included are bobble, cluster, puff st, popcorn st, post sts, and
two examples of texture from the use of differing height sts next to each other.
The class has two lessons.
In the first lesson we will work the first thirty-one rows of the pattern.
In the second lesson we will complete the wall-hanging by crocheting the remaining rows,
and adding a simple edge all around. When finished, hanging tabs are made and sewn on.
You can use any smooth un-textured yarn, your choice of weight and color.
The finer the yarn, the smaller the finished project.
The model in the photograph which is made with Tencel Wool® (Sport weight)
and a size F (4 mm) crochet hook, measures 8 ¾" (22 cm) wide by 12 ¼" (31 cm) long.
This is a wonderful technique class to improve your knowledge and know how of
several interesting stitches.
