Knitted Bridal Gowns!

Every bride likes to have a unique gown that nobody else has ever seen or worn. That is why many people tend to pay huge amounts of money for their bridal gown which in itself cuts into the budget for the wedding party or honeymoon, etc.

It seems that a few clever brides have found a way to knit a beautiful gown for themselves, creating both a unique garment and cutting costs at the same time. Take a look at Lydia Tayler’s wedding gown. This yarn shop owner decided to knit her own gown to make a wonderful dress and made her own fake bouquet of flowers made of fine fabric. BY doing this, she saved enough money to place a down payment for her future home with her husband. She used only 300 g of very fine yarn costing her about $320 and a lace pattern to create her masterpiece. To see her dress and read about her story check out:

Another bride, Tanya Lawes, made a fabric Bodice with a hand knitted lace skirt to make her stunning gown. She used two fine cotton yarns held together to make the skirt. Her knitting did not end there as she added a beautiful shrug and pair of gorgeous fingerless gloves. Take a look at her dress on:

I am sure if you search online you can find more of these wonderful examples. However, keep in mind that if you decide to do something similar, give yourself plenty of time as these gowns take a lot of time to knit, but I am sure you will not be disappointed when you are done!
